STREETS CLOSED FOR TRAFFIC

The Imperial City – The central streets of the Imperial City that the funeral procession will pass through, from the Palace to the Allies of Eternity, will be closed for traffic starting today afternoon, until tomorrow evening after the funeral. Citizens are requested to remove their livestock and all personal belongings such as carts, wagons, crates, barrels, furniture and flower pots from the indicated streets. Any items that might possibly interfere with the movement of the procession will be confiscated and/or forcefully removed.

CITIZENS CONTINUE TO LAY FLOWERS AND LIGHT CANDLES AT THE GATES OF THE PALACE

The Imperial City – Citizens of the Imperial City continue to lay flowers and light candles near the gates of the Imperial Palace as tokens of grief after our divine father, Emperor Uriel Septim VII. At any time of day and night, dozens of people can be found standing in front of the gates in respectful silence, paying their respects to our late sovereign. A hand-written poster has appeared on the gates of the palace, saying:

“You have been our window to the heavens!
After you, the Empire cries!
Without you, the Empire dies!”

The Imperial Guard has not attempted to remove the poster as of yet.

WATERBORNE TRAFFIC WITH THE IMPERIAL CITY RESUMED

The Imperial City – After the two-day cessation of all traffic in the ports of the Imperial City due to the murder of the Emperor and the Imperial Family, the waterborne traffic has been resumed this morning. The Imperial Navy and the City Guard warn that during the martial law any and all vessels and individuals are obliged to submit to regular and outstanding controls, and that any failure in doing so might result in immediate confiscation of vessels and goods and imprisonment or execution of their owners.

REACTIONS FROM MORROWIND

Mournhold, Morrowind – Her Royal Highness, Mother Queen Barenziah, extends her condolences to the people of the Empire. “I have had the honor of witnessing the victories and failures of all the emperors of the Septim bloodline,” the Mother Queen reminds us, “yet the reign of Uriel Septim VII was without precedent the most difficult, many times tested and finally ended by saboteurs who seek to replace order with chaos, peace with war, prosperity with regression. We still feel the pain at the loss of our own King and Husband and thus share the ordeal the good people of the Empire must endure before a semblance of normal life can be resumed.”

The Mother Queen regrets that she will not be able to attend the funeral of the Emperor and the Imperial Family. The diplomatic delegation from Morrowind, lead by His Royal Highness, King Hlaalu Helseth, is expected to arrive to the Imperial City tomorrow morning.

THE SURVIVOR’S HEALTH IS STABLE

Temple of Dibella, Anvil – Ciralya of Cloudrest, an Elder Sister in the Anvil Temple of Dibella, says for the Anvil Dawn that the health of the only survivor of the Harvest’s End Ball in Greenhold Castle, whose name is still kept confidential, is stable. “We are satisfied with the status of our ward at the moment, but we keep them under constant surveillance.” The mysterious survivor was admitted to the care of Sisters of Dibella in the state of near total bodily dysfunction, and the sisters consider it a divine gift that the person in question stayed alive. The Imperial Guard is still refusing our persistent inquiries into the circumstances of the demise of the Emperor and the Imperial family, and no details about the catastrophic events during the Harvest’s End Ball – dubbed by the people and press “The Blood Ball” – or of the murder in the Palace, are known as of yet.
